The Mimosa pudica, the Tickle Me Plant, creeping annual or perennial herb. They are mostly grown for their curiosity value. When the leaves of the plant are stimulated, they fold up and droop.
The Tickle Me Plant is really easy to grow. Before you plant your seeds, with adult supervision you will want to place them in a cup of very hot water (just started boiling). Let to seeds soak for 24-48 hours. Plant 3+ seeds no deeper than 1/8 inch below the soil in a small pot or cup. Once planted, you will want to place your seeds in an area that is partially to mostly sunny. Try to keep your planted seeds in a room that is going to be 70º or above day or night for quicker sprouting time.
If you would like to buy your own seeds, they can be purchased on http://ticklemeplant.com/ and a few other places. If you are in the USA or Canada, the cost of 5 seed packs is going to run you about $5.50 + shipping. If you would like a kit with the pots, seeds, mini greenhouse, and peat pellets, those start at $12.99 + shipping and go up from there.
